1. Introduction

The main functions of reverse osmosis water treatment equipment include effectively removing dissolved salts in water, including sodium, calcium, magnesium, etc., reducing the total dissolved solids (TDS) content of water, removing heavy metals, microorganisms, organic matter and other pollutants in water, and providing high-purity water to meet the strict water quality requirements of industrial production, drinking water, electronics, cosmetics, daily chemicals, pharmaceuticals and other industries.

2. Main Process

(1) Influent pretreatment: Raw water usually needs to be pretreated to remove large particles and suspended solids to protect the reverse osmosis membrane.
(2) Applying pressure: The pretreated water is subjected to a certain pressure (usually between 5-30 bar) through a pump to overcome the osmotic pressure.
(3) Membrane separation: Water molecules pass through the reverse osmosis membrane under pressure, while salts and pollutants dissolved in the water cannot pass through, forming two different water flows: permeate water (clean water) and concentrate water (wastewater).
(4) Clean water collection: After the water permeates the membrane, it can be further treated to meet the required water quality standards.
(5) Concentrate water treatment: Concentrate water usually needs to be treated or discharged through other treatment methods.
